PANAMA: Protests escalate as Anadepo deal with gov’t unravels

On 18 July Luis Sánchez, a spokesperson for Alianza Nacional por los Derechos del Pueblo Organizado (Anadepo), a leading protest group in Panama, said that Anadepo had called off a deal reached with the government led by President Laurentino Cortizo to end protests which began earlier this month.
