EL SALVADOR: Protests over state of emergency

On 19 July hundreds of relatives of those detained under the state of emergency to address the rise in gang violence, declared in late March by El Salvador’s Nuevas Ideas (NI) government led by President Nayib Bukele, staged protests in the capital San Salvador.
