PANAMA: Cortizo offers more concessions as protests turn violent

On 25 July Panama’s government led by President Laurentino Cortizo announced a 30% reduction in the cost of a basic basket of goods; price controls on 72 products; and temporary elimination of import tariffs on various products for six months, subject to renewal, among other measures.
