COSTA RICA: Government under pressure over indigenous rights

A series of attacks on indigenous leaders have raised concerns over the safety of indigenous communities in Costa Rica. The United Nations (UN) office in Costa Rica and local NGOs, Bloque Verde and Coordinadora de Lucha Sur Sur (CLSS), have been among those calling on the authorities to take action to protect these groups from the threat of armed attacks
