In brief: Mexico’s Pemex and union agree salary rise

* Mexico’s state oil company Pemex and its union, Sindicato de Trabajadores Petroleros de la República Mexicana (STPRM), have agreed to a 4% pay raise and a 2.25% increase in benefits during 2022-2023 salary negotiations. The wage rise remains far short of Mexico’s annual inflation rate, which was running at 8.1% in July, well above the central bank’s target range of 3% +/-1.
