* Brazil’s civil aviation agency (Anac) has awarded three concessions for the management of 15 airports, including Congonhas Airport in São Paulo, the country’s second largest. The tender generated R$2.72bn (US$526.24m). The airports, which have been awarded for a period of 30 years, account for 15.8% of Brazil’s total passenger traffic, according to Anac. The Spanish airport operations company Aena paid R$2.45bn for the largest tranche of airports, winning a concession to operate Congonhas (São Paulo state); Campo Grande, Corumbá, and Ponta Porã (Mato Grosso do Sul); Santarém, Marabá, Parauapebas, and Altamira (Pará); and Uberlândia, Uberaba, and Montes Claros (Minas Gerais). The Brazilian investment group XP Infra acquired Campo de Marte (São Paulo) and Jacarepaguá (Rio de Janeiro) for R$141.4m. Finally, the Brazilian consortium Novo Norte acquired airports in Belém (Pará) and Macapá (Amapá) for R$125m.
