* Chile’s central bank (BCCh) has released its monthly index on economic activity (Imacec), which serves as a proxy for GDP. It reported year-on-year growth of 1.0% for July 2022, and a monthly decline of 1.1% in seasonally adjusted terms. Economic activity in July was the lowest recorded since February 2021, with trade down 11.1% year-on-year and goods production down 1.8%. The BCCh attributed the year-on-year growth primarily to the services sector, citing a 6.3% rise, but economic activity in services was still down 1.7% on the previous month.
