* Mexico’s national social security institute (IMSS) has released a new report which shows that as of 31 August, it had registered a total of 21.2m jobs. According to the same report, in August 157,432 jobs were created in the formal sector, representing a monthly increase of 0.7%. In the last twelve months, the IMSS says it registered an increase of 816,043 jobs, equivalent to a yearly rate of 4%. The economic sectors to register the highest annual percentage job growth were transportation and communications (+8.6%), construction (+5.3%) and retail (+4.1%).
