In brief: Mining exports up in Peru

* Peru’s energy and mining ministry (Minem) has announced that mining exports totalled US$19.52bn in the first six months of 2022, representing a year-on-year increase of 6.2%. This increase was driven by strong increases in the export of molybdenum (+46.5%), tin (+28.1%), silver (+18.7%), zinc (+14.0%), gold (9.6%), and copper (+8.8%). The export of lead and iron fell by 20.8% and 29.6%, respectively.
