Janez Lenarčič, has announced that the European Commission will award €34m (US$33m) in humanitarian assistance to Colombia, of which €22m will go towards helping Venezuelan migrants. Lenarčič underlined
“the EU’s concrete solidarity towards all people in need and congratulate[d] Colombia for showing true generosity in receiving Venezuelan refugees in these difficult times.” He said that the objective of the humanitarian aid is to help people affected by Colombia’s internal conflict, Venezuelan migrants, and communities receiving those migrants.
