In brief: Mexico’s international tourism up year-on-year
* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released new figures showing that 3.09m international tourists visited the country in August 2022, an 11.5% increase on the 2.77m that visited in August 2021. The same figures show that revenue from international tourism in August stood at US$2.2bn, up 23% from US$1.79bn in August 2021. In monthly terms, fewer international tourists visited Mexico in August than July 2022, when 3.68m international tourists entered the country.
