In brief: Mexico’s natural gas production up year-on-year

*Mexico’s energy ministry (Sener) has released new figures showing that production of natural gas equalled 2.52bn cubic feet per day on average in the first seven months of 2022, representing a yearly increase of 11.2%. This is the first time since 2010 that natural gas production has increased year-on-year. However, production levels remain far below those recorded in 2010, when production was around 5bn cubic feet per day on average. Natural gas imports in the first seven months of 2022 equalled 5.83bn cubic feet per day. Natural gas imports have increased steadily since 2010, when levels stood at just under 1bn cubic feet per day on average.
