EL SALVADOR | Trade deficit balloons. El Salvador posted a trade deficit of US$7.8bn in the first nine months of 2022, up 31.9% year-on-year, the central bank (BCR) reported last week. While exports of goods and services increased by 15.4% to reach US$5.69bn over this period, imports leapt by 24.4% to total US$13.49bn.
