In brief: Inflation rises in Peru

* Peru’s national statistics institute (Inei) has released its latest consumer price index, putting monthly inflation in October at 0.45% and annual inflation at 8.64%. The monthly increase in inflation was predominantly driven by price increases for transport (+1.10%), restaurants and hotels (+0.66%), alcoholic drinks and tobacco (+0.65%), and food and non-alcoholic drinks (+0.40%). Annual inflation remains nearly triple the central bank’s target range of 1-3%.
