MEXICO: Femicide investigations face scrutiny

Authorities in Mexico City (CDMX) are at loggerheads with the attorney general’s office (FGE) in neighbouring Morelos state. The disagreement lies in the handling of a case concerning a young woman who was last seen alive in CDMX and found dead a day later in Morelos. The case has highlighted the many obstacles hampering investigations of suspected femicides in Mexico.
