On 14 November the civic committee of Bolivia’s south-western department of Potosí began a 48-hour strike in solidarity with the civic committee of the eastern department of Santa Cruz, which has been on strike for 24 days to try and mount pressure on the government led by President Luis Arce over the staging of a national census.
