In brief: Argentina’s inflation rises

*Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has published the latest consumer price index (IPC), which showed that monthly inflation stood at 6.3% in October, bringing the annual rate to 88%. The monthly rate compares with 6.2% in September, when annual inflation was 83%. The steepest monthly increases were in communication (+12.1%), due mainly to the rise in telephone and internet services; home, water, electricity, gas & other fuels (+7.5%); restaurants & hotels (+7.4%) and health (+7.1%).
