In brief: Argentina’s economic activity drops slightly

*Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has revealed new figures showing that Argentina’s economic activity fell by 0.3% in September compared to August, although it remained 4.8% higher than in September 2021. Indec noted that, in year-on-year terms, the 4.8% increase was due to increased activity in the hospitality sector (+30.3%), mining (+14.2%), commerce (+7.0%), and industrial manufacturing (+4.1%). Economic activity in the electricity, gas and water sector fell by 3.5% year-on-year in September, while financial intermediation fell by 2.3%.
