In brief: Mexico’s international tourism rises year-on-year
*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released new figures showing that Mexico received 3.17m international tourists in October 2022, an 13.9% increase on the 2.78m that visited the country in October 2021. In monthly terms, the number of international visitors increased by 14.4% compared to the 2.77m who visited in September. The report shows that the total spending by international tourists was up 12.2% year-on-year in October 2022, increasing from US$1.69bn in October 2021 to US$1.9bn in October 2022.
