In brief: Brazil’s oil and natural gas production falls in November

* Brazil’s Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural, e Biocombustíveis (ANP), the federal oil and gas regulator, has announced that oil and natural gas production fell to 3.98m barrels per day (bpd) in November, down from 4.18m bpd in October and 4.05m bpd in September. Oil production averaged 3.095m bpd. This represents a decrease of 4.6% compared with October, but an 8.5% increase compared with November 2021. Natural gas production in November stood at 140.38m cubic metres per day. This marked a decrease of 5.6% compared with the previous month, but a 2.8% increase in year-on-year terms. The ANP attributed the drop in oil and gas production to “scheduled and non-scheduled halts to production on the FPSOs [floating production, storage and offloading vessels], Cidade de Ilha Bela, Cidade de Caraguatatuba and Cidade de Mangaratiba”.
