In brief: Uruguay’s annual inflation continues to fall

*Uruguays national statistics institute (INE) has released the latest consumer price index (IPC), which shows monthly deflation of  0.26% in December while annual inflation stood at 8.29%. This compares to monthly deflation of 0.28% and annual inflation of 8.46% in November. Despite these decreases, annual inflation remains above the 3-6% target range set by the central bank (BCU).
