BRAZIL: Environment minister begins to set new agenda

On 4 January Brazil’s Marina Silva, who has returned as environment minister under the new centre-left government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, outlined her policies, with protection of the Amazon and action on climate change as government priorities.
