In brief: Mexico’s industrial production unchanging in November

* Mexicos national statistics institute (Inegi) has published new data for its monthly index of industrial activity (Imai) showing that overall, industrial activity remained at the same level in November 2022 as it did the previous month. Activity in the construction industry rose by 0.7% and utilities (electricity generation and transmission, provision of water and gas) by 0.4%, whilst activity in manufacturing and mining each decreased by 0.5%. In seasonally adjusted annual terms, industrial production rose by 2.9% in November 2022 compared with November 2021. This increase was driven by a rise of 5.5% in utilities; 4.5% in manufacturing, and 0.8% in construction, while mining was down by 0.5%.
