MEXICO: Tensions over plan to ban imports of GM corn

A trade dispute with the US was averted on 16 December after Mexico’s government proposed to delay a ban on the import of genetically modified (GM) corn planned to commence in 2024.  Imports of yellow corn – which is a key input for animal feed and the agro-industrial sector - from the US will now continue until 2025.
