Sergio Massa has announced measures to help farmers coping with the impact of drought
which continues to affect the country’s agricultural regions. The package of measures, which Massa said aims to benefit over 50,000 producers across the country, includes access to an Ar$5bn (US$26.7m) relief fund as well as the suspension of advance income tax payments for producers in hardest-hit areas and smaller interest rates on loans, among other things. Massa made the announcement after meeting with the Mesa de Enlace umbrella group of farming lobbies comprised of Sociedad Rural (SRA), Confederaciones Rurales (CRA), Confederación Intercooperativa Agropecuaria (Coninagro), and Federación Agraria (FAA).
