BRAZIL | New Petrobras chief. The administrative board of Brazil’s state-owned oil company Petrobras has unanimously approved the appointment of Jean Paul Prates as CEO by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Prates served as a senator for Lula’s left-wing Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT) from 2019 up until his appointment. He has previously held other positions in the energy sector including serving as energy secretary for the state of Rio Grande do Norte from 2008-2010.
