In brief: Honduras raises minimum wage

* Honduras’s leftist Partido Libertad y Refundación (Libre) government led by President Xiomara Castro and a tripartite committee to revise the minimum wage, comprising representatives from the government, private sector, and trade unions, have announced a 9.8% increase in the minimum wage. In April 2022 the tripartite committee reached an agreement to increase the minimum wage in Honduras by between 5.3% and 8% for the years 2022 and 2023 but this has been revised up for 2023 due to inflation, which closed 2022 at 9.80%.
