CHILE: Boric says no to Dominga mine

When a mining country like Chile turns down a US$2.5bn investment proposal to develop a copper and iron mine, you know something big is at stake. For nearly a decade the Dominga mine project some 500 km north of the capital Santiago has been a flashpoint for environmental and political controversy, one that reflects the deep divisions that run through Chilean society.
