In brief: Argentina’s central bank holds interest rates

* Argentina’s central bank (BCRA) has announced it is maintaining the benchmark interest rate at 75% despite inflation gaining pace, reaching 6% in monthly terms in January, bringing the annual rate to 98.8%. This was up from 5.1% recorded in December, when the annual rate stood at 94.8%.
