In brief: Peru’s GDP rises

* Peru’s national statistics institute (Inei) has announced that the country’s GDP grew by 1.7% in Q4 2022, bringing total GDP growth in 2022 to 2.7%. Inei stated that the growth in Q4 owes principally to a 2.1% increase in internal demand, driven by a 2.3% increase in household consumption. Inei also highlighted a 2.6% quarterly increase in fixed capital formation, although it noted that private investment fell by 1.8%.
