BRAZIL: Haddad wins the battle over fuel taxes
Federal taxes on petrol and ethanol will be re-instated effective from the beginning of March, in what has been described as a victory for Brazil’s finance minister, Fernando Haddad, over the ‘political wing’ of the government led by Gleisi Hoffmann, the president of the ruling left-wing Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT).
