In brief: Year-on-year inflation rises in Colombia

* Colombia’s national statistics department (Dane) has released the latest consumer price index, showing monthly inflation of 1.66% in February. This brought the annual inflation rate to 13.28%. Whilst monthly inflation was down compared to January, when it stood at 1.78%, annual inflation was up from 13.25% the previous month. Inflation in February was predominantly driven by monthly price increases in the categories of education (+8.50%) and food and non-alcoholic drinks (+1.60%), while Dane also registered increases in all categories except information and communications, which saw prices fall by 0.07%.
