DOMINICAN REPUBLIC | Growth outlook. The IMF predicts that the Dominican economy will shrink again this year, by 1% (last year it did so by 1.3%) - but expects it to turn around and grow by 4.5% in 2005. This year's decline is attributed to the fallout from last year's Baninter bankruptcy, the cost of which the government decided to bear.
