Margrethe Vestager, has begun a two-day visit to Brazil for meetings with political authorities and business representatives. According to the EU’s ambassador in Brazil,
Ignacio Ybáñez, Vestager met yesterday with the CEOs of Brazilian and European businesses
“to discuss the digital challenge and the need to strengthen our cooperation”. Vestager also met with the president of the Federação da Indústria do Estado de São Paulo (Fiesp) business lobby,
Josué Gomes da Silva, Telecommunications Secretary
Maximiliano Martinhão, and the president of Brazil’s telecoms regulator,
Carlos Baigorri.
