PARAGUAY: Abdo Benítez discusses bi-oceanic corridor and Itaipú with Lula
On 16 March Paraguay’s President Mario Abdo Benítez met his Brazilian peer Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the Brazilian border city of Foz do Iguaçu, where they both pledged to develop the ‘bi-oceanic corridor’ as well as to renegotiate the 50-year-old agreement governing the operation of the giant, jointly-owned Itaipú hydroelectric project.
