MEXICO: Top migration officials targeted over deadly fire

Mexico’s federal attorney general’s office (FGR) has said that a “pattern of irresponsibility and neglect” was to blame for a fire that killed 40 migrants at a national migration institute (INM) facility in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua state, on 27 March. The FGR has announced it is launching criminal proceedings against top migration officials and delivered a damning verdict of the INM, as well as Grupo de Seguridad Privada Camsa SA de CV, a private security firm operating at the migration centre.
