* Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has published the latest consumer price index (IPC), which showed that monthly inflation stood at 7.7% in March 2023, bringing the annual rate to 104.3%, as rampant inflation shows little sign of slowing down. This compares to monthly inflation of 6.6% and annual inflation of 102.5% in February. In March, the steepest monthly price increase was in education (+29.1%), followed by clothing & footwear (+9.4%), food & non-alcoholic drinks (+9.3%), and alcoholic drinks and tobacco (+8.3%). Recreation & culture (+4.4%) and communications (+1.9%) recorded the lowest monthly increases.
