In brief: Argentina’s economic activity stagnates in February
* Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has published the latest figures on the country’s economic activity, according to which economic activity registered no change as compared to the previous month and only rose 0.2% compared to the same month in 2022. This compared to year-on-year growth of 3.1% in January. The biggest year-on-year decreases were recorded in fishing (-20%), financial intermediation (-2.7%), manufacturing industries (-1.3%) and agriculture, livestock, hunting & forestry (-0.7%), whereas mining & quarrying (+11.1%) and hotels & restaurants (+8.6%) recorded the highest year-on-year growth.
