* Chile’s national statistics institute (INE) has released the latest employment figures which show that unemployment stood at 8.8% in the January to March rolling quarter. The figure represents a year-on-year increase of 1.0 percentage point and the fifth annual increase in unemployment following continuous decreases since the March-May 2021 rolling quarter. The INE highlights that the number of unemployed persons increased by 16.9% in the January to March rolling quarter and the informal employment rate increased by 0.1 percentage points year-on-year to 27.4%.
