* Mexico’s national social security institute (IMSS) has released a new report which shows that as of 30 April, it had registered a total of 21.8m jobs. According to the IMSS, in April, 24,011 jobs were created in the formal sector, a monthly increase of 0.1%. In the first quarter of this year, the IMSS has registered an increase of 447,395 jobs, while over the past twelve months it has registered an increase of 808,949 jobs, equivalent to a yearly increase of 3.9%. The economic sectors that registered the highest annual percentage job growth were construction (+7.9%), transport & communications (+6.3%), and trade (+4.5%).
