* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released new figures showing that Mexico received 3.57m international tourists in March 2023, a 7.9% increase on the 3.31m who visited the country in March 2022. In monthly terms, the number of international visitors was up 15.5% on the 3.09m that visited Mexico in February. According to Inegi, total spending by international tourists was up 7.3% year-on-year in March 2023, increasing from US$2.5bn in March 2022 to US$2.7bn in March 2023.
