SURINAME | Debt restructuring deal reached. On 4 May, Suriname’s government led by President Chandrikapersad Santokhi announced that a deal had been reached in principle with members of its Eurobond creditor committee over the restructuring of US$675m of Suriname sovereign bonds, concluding a negotiating process which began in 2020. The five members of the committee currently own or control approximately 75% of the outstanding bonds.
