* Chile’s lower chamber has approved a new bill tabled by the justice ministry which establishes a complete catalogue of economic and environmental crimes, in particular targeting ‘white-collar’ crime. It also establishes a special system to determine sanctions, fines, and other measures in response to the crimes. According to the government led by President Gabriel Boric, the initiative, which has been sent down for promulgation, is part of an agenda which seeks to punish collusion, privileged use of information, and corruption.
