In brief: Employment up in Peru

* Peru’s central bank (BCRP) has published the latest employment figures, showing that formal employment increased by 2.6% year-on-year in March, representing 148,000 new jobs since March 2022. Formal jobs in the private sector were up by 4.8%, principally due to a 7.4% increase in employment in the services sector. The increase in formal employment in March followed year-on-year increases of 2.6% in February, 2.7% in January, and 4.6% in December.
