* Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released the latest figures on economic activity, which it estimated to have grown by 0.1% in March compared to the previous month in seasonally adjusted terms. In year-on-year terms, economic activity was up 1.3% in March. The strongest year-on-year growth was in electricity, gas and water (+13.6%) and mining and quarrying (+12.1%). In contrast, agriculture, livestock, hunting & forestry contracted by 12.0%, in a reflection of the severe drought which Argentina’s government has described as the worst in the country’s history.
