* Peru’s national statistics institute (Inei) has released the latest figures on copper production, which was up 19.9% in March compared with the same month last year. Inei attributed the increase to the launch of operations at the Quellaveco mine, which is operated by Anglo American in the Moquegua region and became operational in September 2022. Production was also up at several other key mines, including Antapaccay, although production was down at Las Bambas and Antamina.
