In brief: Mexico’s economic activity up in April

*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released the latest figures for its monthly global indicator of economic activity (IGAE) which show economic activity grew by 0.8% in April 2023 compared to the previous month. In seasonally-adjusted monthly terms, economic activity increased by 1.2% in the primary sector (agriculture), 1% in the tertiary (services) sector and by 0.4% secondary sector (industry). In year-on-year terms, the IGAE rose 3.3% in real terms, with activities in the tertiary sector up 4.1%, while the primary sector was up 3%, and the secondary sector was up 1.6%.
