BRAZIL: Congress grills Bolsonaro aide on suspected coup conspiracy
On 11 July Mauro Cid, a former aide of Brazil’s right-wing former president Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2023), was summoned to the congressional select committee inquiry (CPMI) investigating anti-democratic actions, such as the 8 January riots, when Bolsonaro supporters stormed the seats of government in Brasília.
