MEXICO: Tensions rise between López Obrador and judiciary

On 1 November a federal judge in Mexico suspended the elimination of 13 trusts issued by the federal judicial power (PJF). The decision was made after the lower chamber and senate, both controlled by the ruling leftist Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena), approved the trusts’ elimination on 17 and 24 October respectively, in the latest ratcheting up of tensions between López Obrador’s government and the judiciary
