US-based NGO Human Rights Watch (HRW) released a statement on 11 December calling on Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to veto a controversial bill (PL 1459/2022) to loosen regulations on the use of pesticides, which was approved by congress on 28 November.
